BlackBerry Storm ERROR 503 FIX/REPAIR/Tutorial Thanks to D_FISHER @ blackberry forums.com for this tutorial. J I plugged my phone to the charger and when I got it off the screen was white and it said "ERROR 503" i clicked under the error where it said "reset" and it rebooted the phone.... said uncaught 10 (greater than) 10 or something... i can't remember then when i clicked the screen the same error would come up... so basically it was a brick at this point and useless. This is how I went about it to repair my blackberry after Verizion said "we can't help you because it has water damage" First, this is my third phone from Assurion (verizion's insurance place) and it came out of their box with the red dots/lines... anywho this is how i went about doing what Verizion is too lazy to do. link: www.smalltowncustoms.com 1:) Download the JL_Cmder.ZIP from the link above and install. 2.) Connect your blackberry via USB port and turn the phone on. 3.) On JL_Cmder click #1 which is device info. this simply lets you know if it's reading your phone. A notepad will come up with information from your phone on it. Close this... 4.) Click #4 which is WIPE.... follow on screen instructions there. 5.) Click #5 which is RESET to factory.... follow on screen instructions here also. Remove the battery for 5-6 seconds then place battery back in your phone. Turn the phone on and a white screen will come up saying "WIPING......" with a status bar going across... once done I believe it reboots ...

To complete this How-To you will need: A plastic container with a lid A blow-dryer A towel And two silica gel packs Step 1: Remove battery Remove your phone's battery. Many circuits inside the phone will survive if they are not attached to a power source when wet. Step 2: Remove sim card Consult the manual to remove your phone's Sim card, which stores the phone's data and allows it to connect to your service provider. Sim cards can survive water damage. Step 3: Dab w/ towel Dab the phone, battery, and Sim card with a towel, then set the last two items aside. Step 4: Dry with blow-dryer With your blow-dryer set on low (or the cool air blast), dry your phone, getting as much water out of the unit as possible.
